Kenneth "Big Kenny" Neilson

NEILSON, KENNY - At Vision Nursing Home on Friday, October 11, 2019, Kenneth Robert Neilson, “Big Kenny”, age 78 of Sarnia passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Patricia (Cary) and the treasured father of Mary (Alberto) and Patti, loving grandfather of Sarah and Seth Lang. He is also survived by his brother Gerry (Irene) and sister Susan (Les) Laur.  He was predeceased by his parents John and Mabel Neilson, brothers John and Ron, sisters Carol, Annette and Dolly. Kenny was known for his love of music, he loved to sing and play guitar. He was an entertainer for over 50 years in the Sarnia area, playing at different venues including the Bridge Tavern as “Big Kenny”. He also loved to sing at church and in the church choir. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. (Psalm 73:26) Kenny was a humble, caring and loving family man. He enjoyed making people laugh, but he also enjoyed his quiet time at home listening to music, writing music and playing music. He will be greatly missed by many. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9) where a celebration of Kenny’s life will be held on Friday, October 18th, 2019 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Kenny made to help with the funeral expenses would be appreciated by Patricia and the family. (cheques only please at the funeral home).
