Karen Elizabeth McAlpine

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Karen Elizabeth (nee Robinson) McAlpine passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at the age of 79. Predeceased by her loving husband Donald Gordon McAlpine (1997) and longtime partner Al Kelley (2020). Loving mother to Shelley and dear grandmother of Collin and Sean Turner and great grandmother to Faith Turner. Survived by her brother Marc Robinson his wife Brenda and predeceased by brother Greg Robinson and sister in-law Marilyn. A special thank you to her nieces and nephew; Jennifer Reynolds (Bryan), Barb Quinn (Bob) and Bruce Robinson (Jocelyn). She was loved and admired by her great-nieces and great-nephews Teygin, Brooklynn, Jesse, Cale, Erik and Lily. Karen appreciated the friendship of her first husband Christie Smith in her later years and many other friends from the Strangway Community Centre where she volunteered faithfully in the kitchen for many years. She will be missed by many great friends, work colleagues and fellow members of the choir and congregation of St. Bartholomew Anglican Church. Karen retired after many years of service as a Pharmacy Technician with Sarnia Pharmacy. Karen will be missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. (102 Victoria Street, North, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9) on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 12:00 noon with visitation one hour prior (11:00 am). For those who are unable to attend at the funeral home the service is being live streamed as well.

A private family interment will follow at Strathroy Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Karen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Memories, photos or messages of condolence may be shared at www.djrobb.on.ca
