June Aileen McFadyen passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2012 after a brief stay at St. Joseph's Hospice. She was the loving wife and companion to John (Jack) for 67 years, and mother to George (Anne) and John (Janine). June was the proud grandmother of Sarah Hill (Graham), Kay Roberts (Trevor) and Brock. One month ago June received the greatest delight when her great-granddaughter Meghan was born. Dear aunt of Al Venton (Janet) of Thunder Bay. Pre-deceased by her parents Fredrick and Thelma (Richmond) Venton and a brother Al (Helen) Venton. A lifelong Sarnia area resident, June was born at Port Huron , Michigan on July 1, 1928. She was a member of Central United Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Active with the local Meals on Wheels program, June also enjoyed sailing, gardening and providing help and encouragement to everyone she met. She loved her family and always put others first. The family will welcome friends at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, November 21 st at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Mary Anne MacFarlane of Central United Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made to St. Joseph's Hospice or the Victorian Order of Nurses. The family would like to thank Dr. Jim Grochowski and the Emergency Team at Bluewater Health for all that was done to make June's transition to the St.Joseph Hospice a peaceful one. The comfort that June and her family received at St. Joseph's Hospice was very much appreciated and the family would like to thank Dr. M. Dostaler and Dr. G. Maddison and the Hospice staff for their dedicated attention.
