Judith (Judie) Kathryn Bloomfield
September 10, 1947-October 7, 2022.
After thinking that the battle was won, cancer struck once again and took our Mum sooner than anyone expected, at the age of 75. Predeceased by her husband Allan (2007), but still here to mourn the loss yet enjoy the memories are her son Scott Bloomfield, daughter Laurie Bloomfield (Richard Smith), granddaughter and light of her life Kathryn (Katie) Bloomfield-Smith, and sister Ina Harris (late Mel). Predeceased by her other sisters Sally (Sarah) Duncan (late Ron) and Maureen (Ellen) Brown.
Mum left many friends behind in Sault Ste. Marie when she retired to Sarnia in 2002, where she thoroughly enjoyed being an aunt to Tom (Lori) Duncan, Christine Skinner, Nancy (Tim) Lyon, Susan (late Mike) McGrath, Ron Brown (Kara Rutledge), Mav MacKellar, great-aunt to 8 and great-great aunt to 14. Also left behind to struggle with the loss is her cousin and friend Lynda (Ken) Easterbrook, and other family members near and far.
A heartfelt thank you to those who helped care for Mum during her brief stay at Bluewater Health-Sarnia and St. Joseph's Hospice-Sarnia, and to Dr. Lilly and colleagues for trying their best over the months and years.
A private day of reflection will be held, where we will raise our glasses and be thankful for the time we had. We ask all those who knew her to find a moment to do the same, and say together, eff cancer!
Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice-Sarniahttp://www.stjosephshospice.ca/make-a-difference/donate , Algoma Residential Community Hospice https://www.archhospice.ca/donate, or charity of choice.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia). Memories, messages of condolence or photographs may be shared through www.djrobb.on.ca.
