Joseph Mitchell

MITCHELL, Joseph - Peacefully at Fiddick's, Tuesday, June 9th. passed away at 95. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Linda Tyro, husband Ed, and son Kim Mitchell. Joseph was proud grandpa to Scott Tyro, Jesse Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, and dear great- "grapnda with the cane" to Nola Hazel. Joseph was born in Beinfait, Saskatchewan in 1920, son of Jesse and Anthony Mitchell. He was pre-deceased by brothers Jack, Herb, Al and sisters Pat and Nell.
Joseph came to Sarnia in 1942 and became a pipefitter welder. He was a life-time member of Local 663. Joseph married Hazel Mae Roberts in 1946. They were married 45 years until her death in 1991. He will also be missed by his dear friend of 20 years, Catherine Hemstreet.
He loved Sarnia, and was especially fond of sitting under the bridge, and enjoying the beautiful water and ships. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren's accomplishments.
At Joseph's request there will be no visitation or memorial service. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE.
