MATTINGLEY, JOSEPH GORDON (Joe Coke) - After a 17 year battle with cancer, the last bout was too much for him to overcome, Joseph (Joe Coke) Gordon Mattingley, age 73, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Bluewater Health on Thursday, August, 10, 2017. He is survived by his wife and partner of 17 years, Marilyn Ralf, his daughter Melissa (Russ) McKechnie, step-children Bud (Pepper) Ralf and Deanna (Jordan) Lavin. He was the proud “Papa Joe” to Alexis and Addison McKechnie, Landon and Lucas Ralf, Morgan, Turner and Ella Lavin. He is also survived by his siblings Barry , Sharon Ellis (Ken) and Ron. He was predeceased by his parents Ray and Mary Mattingley and sister in law Gail Mattingley. Joe was proud to be a “Point Boy”. He retired from Coca Cola after 30 years of service. Sports was his passion growing up playing #12 in hockey, lacrosse and baseball. His brother Barry was by his side in hockey and lacrosse. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Monday, August 14, 2017 beginning at 12:30 pm until the start of the funeral service at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s Club would be appreciated by the family. Messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
