At Bluewater Health on Sunday, May 21, 2017, John William Murphy, age 84 of Sarnia peacefully passed away with his family by his side. He was the dear husband of Ellen (Brown) Murphy and loving father of Karen Murphy (Dave), Frank Murphy (Helen), Stuart Murphy (Cathie) and Janis Murphy (Wil). He is survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and dear friends Lucienne Bunda, Marcella and Jim Bryce, Mary and Bill Barill, Joyce Mooney (late Bill) and coffee buddy Rollie Budgell. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Dorothy, sisters Norma, Helen, Erma and Edith and brothers Howard, Hugh, Pat and Roy and his childhood friend Bill Muir. John was born in Sarnia and retired after 35 years of service as a letter carrier with Canada Post. He was a 28 year member of the Bluewater Optimists Club. John loved his daily walks to Tim Hortons on Indian Road for coffee with Rollie. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 between the hours of 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 25th at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations to the St. Andrews Church Restoration Fund would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J.
