John McManus

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John McManus at the age of 78. He passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at North Lambton Lodge in Forest. He was the loving husband of the late Sharon Lee (MacDonald) McManus (2017). He is survived by his sons Cameron and Michael and daughter Nicole Gruszecki (Jason), grandchildren Owen, Krzysztof, Oswald, Taylor and Jayden. He was predeceased by his parents John and Grace, sisters Margaret and Grace and his brother William. John was a member of Local #128 of the Boilermakers Union. He was passionate about protecting the rights of union workers as an Arbiter for many years. John was a longtime partner of Ups “N” Downs pub on Front Street in Sarnia. Charitable donations made in John’s memory to the Alzheimer’s, Cancer and the Sarnia Humane Societies would be appreciated by the family. Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9). A celebration of John’ life will be announced at a later date.
