John “Jud” Judson, age 76. Left us unexpectedly in his home Sunday April 24th. Even though his heart took his final count there is a beacon of light above for all of us. With broken hearts, Jud, leaves behind his Loving wife Josephine, his daughter Leah, his son William (Elizabeth) and his grandchildren Kristen, Taylor, Nick, and Ameleeya. Also his grandchildren in England and Australia..His cousin Maureen He is also survived by his step children Paul, Lynn, and Chris and his many nieces and nephews in England.
Jud was born in Ellesmere Port Cheshire UK. As a young lad, he knew he would have to fight his own battles and began his boxing crusade to become a champion. Rapidly climbing the ranks, he did just that becoming both a Canadian and European Champion. Eventually moving into pro fighting age took him out of fighting and into training, and refereeing. The local boxing community in Sarnia was greatly impacted by his presence and talents and hard headed training nature.
Jud, immigrated to Canada with his family in 1975 he worked as a boiler maker at the Sarnia Imperial Oil refinery. As a longtime member of the Sarnia Saints Rugby club he traveled the globe with his team mates and friends playing for the Golden Beavers.
After Jud retired, he was running his sports bar “Time Out”. But his real passion at that time and moving forward was golf. Jud could be seen with the sun coming up hitting balls at Greenwood, waiting for someone to join him.
Many who knew Jud know him as a hard headed stubborn man. Over the past few years dementia showed us all a softer side of him. We like to look at this as a gift. He was a forced to be reckon with and someone you wanted to have your back.
John is predeceased by his parents William and Marion, his Sister Sheila, has Brother Bill, his Daughter Kate.
John will be brought home to England by his family to be with his Mother, Father. Please lift a Jar for our Jud and do a random act of kindness
