HARDWICK, John Donald Joseph Born in St. Thomas, on July 22, 1940. Died on Wednesday March 9, 2022 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia. Step-father of Nancy Barwick (Jimmy Eppehimer) of London, step-grandfather of Michael Stein (Ashley) of London, brother of Vincent of West Lorne and Paul Hardwick of B.C and their families, step-son of Tina Hardwick of St. Thomas, step-brother of Cindy Kline and Jeff Hardwick, both of St. Thomas and their families. Remembered by cousins Elizabeth Soros of Windsor and Mary McCully of Bracebridge. Very special friend of Tami and Pete Willems and their family of Strathroy. John served in the Canadian Navy for three years. He worked at several jobs over his lifetime, ending with the job of groundskeeper at Indian Hills Golf Course. John was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He used to enjoy golfing, especially the 19th hole. John was a member of St. John's in the Wilderness Anglican Church in Bright’s Grove. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9) on Thursday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John's in the Wilderness Anglican Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Special sincere thanks to Dr. MacSweeney and the wonderful nurses at Bluewater Health who took care of John. Memories and messages of condolences may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
