WALLER, John Henry (Duke): John passed away peacefully at Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound on January 26, 2019, at the age of 84 years. John was the son of wonderful parents, the late Bloss and Rachel (Sandham) Waller. He was the loved husband and best friend of the late Joan (Douglas) Waller for 63 years, the dear father of daughter Cathy (Dave Goodfellow) of Williamsford and son Ron (Leanne) of Brantford and loving grandfather to Rachel (Troy) and Adam, step-grandfather to Cara (Andrew) and Alyssa (Nick). Step great-grandfather to Jade and baby Patrick. John is survived by his siblings Vi Henderson and Doug Waller. He was pre-deceased by siblings and their spouses, Jean (Roy) Reynolds, Chris (Betty) Waller, Helen (Ron) Hamel, Doris (Irvin) Tremain, Bob Henderson, Gaysie Waller. John is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ray (Lil) Douglas, Bonnie (Jim) Siler, Marilyn (Cyril) Quinton and Pauline Douglas. Predeceased by his in-laws William and Margaret Douglas and brother-in-law Ken Douglas. John leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church. John worked in and loved the car business, first starting with Park Lane, then Frank 0’Connor Pontiac Buick and then his own Duke Waller Motor Sales. John was a member of the Lambton Shrine Club, the Sarnia Rotary Club and the Victoria Lodge #56. John loved boating with his family and was Commodore of the Sarnia Yacht Club in 1969. John loved music and dancing, entertaining with his wife and having pool parties at their home on Princess Ave and then Tawny Rd. Special times were spent travelling with family to his parent’s home in Plant City, Florida, then Mexico, Barbados, Las Vegas and other destinations over the years. Resting at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre where services will be held on Saturday February 2nd at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jill Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Parkinson’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
