JOHN DAVID DAYE, age 86 of Sarnia, passed away peacefully. Much loved husband of Margaret (nee Thompson) Daye. Beloved father of David (Carol) of Alberta, Wendy Street (Mike), Sharon Damchuk (Mike). Cherished Papa of Shannon Daye-Sutherland of S Africa, Nic Damchuk (Jen), Mike Damchuk (Terra), Jody Damchuk (Josh), Tracy Damchuk, John M Daye, Heather Smith (Paul), Christie Daye. Great Grandchildren, Jacob & Chloe, David & Becky, Skye & Dylan. Survived by siblings Jessie Hunter (Bellville) and Agnes Mossman (Texas), sister-in laws Gladys Perry and Shirley Thompson. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins, in New Brunswick, Ontario, & United States. John is predeceased by his sons John Daye and Ralph Daye, Grandson Shane Daye, his parents, Walter & Grace Daye, and siblings, Fannie Wiley, Gladys Daye, Douglas Daye.
John was a process operator for Polysar/Bayer Rubber Corporation for 43 years. He was an avid Lawn Bowler and well as being Past President of the Club. He enjoyed his 5 pin bowling league and was a carpet bowler and member of the Salvation Army.
Resting at the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE where family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 16 from the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel (970 Confederation St.) on Wednesday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. with Major Rick Pollard officiating, interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to Salvation Army, Bluewater Health Palliative Care or ICU, or Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club.
