Waller, (Douglas) Joan Gwendolyn - Joan passed away peacefully at Georgian Heights in Owen Sound on Monday, January 22, 2018, at the age of 82 years. Joan was daughter of wonderful parents, the late William & Margaret (Johnson) Douglas. Loved wife and best friend of John (Duke) Waller for 63 years and dear mother of daughter Cathy (Dave Goodfellow) of Williamsford and her son Ron (Leanne) of Brantford. Loving grandmother to Rachel (Troy) and Adam. Step-grandmother to Cara (Andrew) and Alyssa. Step-great- grandmother to baby Jade. Joan is survived by her siblings, Ray (Lil), Bonnie (James Siler), Marilyn (Cyril Quinton). She was predeceased by her brother Ken (Pauline). Joan is survived by her sister-in-law Vi Henderson and brother-in-law Doug Waller. Predeceased by her in-laws Bloss and Rachel Waller and other Waller family members - Jean & Roy Reynolds, Chris & Betty Waller, Helen & Ron Hamel, Doris & Irvin Tremain, Bob (Vi) Henderson and Donna (Doug) Waller. Joan leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joan worked at Fiberglass and Shell Oil before staying home to raise her two children. Joan is a long-time member of St. Paul’s United Church and was very artistic, working with many mediums - oils, pens, crayon, and chalk. Joan enjoyed playing bridge/dominoes, curling, and boating. She loved music/dancing and to entertain and having pool parties at her homes on Princess Ave and Tawny Rd. Special times were spent travelling with her husband and family to Plant City, FL, Mexico, Barbados, Las Vegas and other destinations over the years. Visitation will take place at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 1:00 pm to be followed by a funeral service there at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed thru donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society.
