Jessie Yates

Jessica (Jessie) Dalgity Yates passed away peacefully in her 93rd year on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia. Jessie was born on April 11, 1922 in Dundee, Scotland and moved to London, Ontario at the age of 7 and lived most of her life in Sarnia and Bright's Grove. She was the dear mother of Bonnie Yates and Carl Yates and his wife Christine and loving grandmother of Christopher Burley (Teena), Sherryl Burley Marcoux, Jeffrey Yates (Nicole) and Jonathan Yates and great-grandmother GG)of Jacob, Hayden, and Gavin Marcoux, Yazmine, Zander, Quinlan and Declan Burley, Alex, Dom, Brittany and Andrew Goudrault. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William (Bill) Yates in 1992, her brother Robert Philip (Rose) and sister Mina (Bill) Taylor. Jessie had a wonderful sense of humor and was always the life of the party! She spent most of her working career in the women's retail clothing business and her retirement winters in Fort Myers and Ruskin Florida. Jessie will be missed by all. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A celebration of Jessie's life will take place on February 8th, 2015 at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, 500 Errol Rd. W. between the hours of 1:00 to 4:00 pm. For those wishing, memorial gifts in memory of Jessie made to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
