Jessie Myles Cross

Born in Thornton, Fife, Scotland on April 6, 1932, Jessie passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2016. Dear wife of the late Robert Cross, Loving Mum to the late David Cross, and also daughter in-law Georgina – Sarnia, daughters Andrea (Lori) - Etobicoke and Barbara – Sarnia. Loving Nana to Amanda and Ryan (Samantha) Cross - Sarnia. Jessie came to Canada with Bob as newlyweds in 1956, first living in Toronto then settling in Sarnia. After years of devoting herself to her family, Jessie took on a job with Sentry Dept. Store for several years where many close friendships emerged. She loved to bake because you can’t have a cup of tea without a tasty bite. She was a golfer in her early years, knitter, sewer, loved working in the garden. She loved to read, complete her crosswords, watch the golf channel, British mysteries and of course the Olympics, always torn between cheering for Canada and Britain. Jessie’s personal touches at celebrations made everyone feel special and unique. She was a very generous and kind person, always giving to others before herself. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment with them. In keeping with Jessie’s wishes there will be a private family service and a Celebration of her Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation – Sarnia Lambton Chapter. The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada - Guelph or the Sarnia Humane Society.
