With sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of our dear Mom Jeanne Audrey Keys, 100 years of age on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Vision Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband James “Arthur” Keys in 2005. She is the dear mother of Susan (Steve) Sparks of Ottawa, Jim (Dustine) Keys of Sarnia, Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Matt) Piggott, Chris Sparks, Dan (Kathleen) Sparks and Carolyn (Ross) Alexander, Scott Keys, Tyler Keys and David (Sydney) Keys, Great-grandmother to Zachary, Henry, Stella, Penny, Florence, Josephine and Maddison. She was predeceased by her brother John Cann and her sister Shirley Aldridge. Jeanne was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and was employed as a secretary for many years at Polymer and could still write and read her own “shorthand” notes. She was very involved with her church, serving on various committees and the choir and developed lifelong friendships while serving her Lord. Mom was a true social “butterfly” always willing to be the hostess to her many friends for afternoon tea/sweets. She was the “young one” of her group and it was common to see her little Honda, with a full compliment of passengers (she was the only one that could drive by then) heading back to her Water’s Edge apartment for tea after lunch. She found it difficult to lose many dear friends over the years, but was quick to develop new friendships. Becoming less mobile, she became a nursing home resident, and found a new love in fellow resident Walter Sorg. It was such a true blessing to spend her final year in love with such a gentle soul. A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery on Wednesday, June 7th at 11:00 and will be followed by a memorial service at Central Baptist Church, 391 London Road Sarnia, ON N7T 4W4 at 1:00 pm. Donations made in Jeanne’s memory to Central Baptist Church Sarnia would be appreciated by the family. The arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home and Cremation Centre at 102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia, N7T 5W9. Memories, photographs or messages of condolence may be shared through www.djrobb.on.ca
