Jean Marie Smith

 Jean Marie Smith, nee Esson, in her 84th year, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 12, 2024 at Marshall Gowland Manor in Sarnia Ontario. She was born on March 14th, 1941 in Sarnia was the loving wife of the late Harold Douglas Smith (2017) and the dear mother to four loving children, Lynne (Derek), Jamie, Rick, Sandra (Dan)and the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her sisters Pauline Higgins, Gladys Robert, Georgina Countryman, Florence Nesbit and her brother George Esson. Jean was a longtime member of the Salvation Army and was an avid crafter and collector. She was a doting wife, mother and grandmother and including the numerous fur babies that came into her life. Funeral visitation and services will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre at 102 N. Victoria Street, Sarnia, N7T 5W9 on Friday November 15th, 2024. The family will receive friends for visiting at 12 noon until the funeral service begins at 2:00 pm. Cremation will follow. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, Heart & Stroke Foundation or Ontario Hemophilia Society would be greatly appreciated.
