Obituary and Life History
PATEL, Jayantilal Dahyabhai (JD) - age 75, passed away peacefully at 4.20 am on Thursday August 27th, 2015 at the Bluewater Health Centre. Beloved husband of Chandrika. Loving father of Umesh (wife Trupti) and Vishal (wife Shetal). He will fondly be missed by his grandsons Krishan, Dhilan, Kevan and Dhruv.
JD's extensive family and friends will miss him and the special moments at community events, celebrations, on the golf course and at the badminton court. JD was born in India and spent his early life in Kenya where he trained as a teacher. He taught physics and chemistry in Kenya and Zambia and derived a great sense of satisfaction from the vocation.. He continued his teaching career as a substitute teacher after emigrating to Canada in 1986. He and the family settled in Sarnia where JD operated the Russell Corner Variety until 2002. Family will receive friends at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE on Friday, August 28th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Cremation service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery on Saturday August 29th at 11:00 a.m. Prayer service will be held at the Hindu Cultural Society (217) College Avenue, Sarnia) on Saturday August 29th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, friends may send memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of their choice.
