James Albert Gibbs

GIBBS, James Albert (November 13, 1924 - March 21, 2015) - With deeply saddened hearts, the family announces the passing of a dear friend and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, James Gibbs, age 90, on March 21, 2015 at Bluewater Health. He is survived by his dear wife Katherine (Kathy, nee Dennett) of 67 years, loving father of Don (Linda), Lynn (Ken) Stanlake and Bill (Melanie), grandfather of Derek (Ange), Samantha Ward, Rebecca (David) Robson and Nicole, great-grandfather of Zakkary, Madison, Mackenzie, Ayden and Royce. He was predeceased by his parents Nina and Albert Gibbs, his sisters Helen Lucas and Margaret Culley and brothers Harry, Herbert and Colin. Jim will be missed by all family members. Jim was a veteran of WWII. For years, Jim and his brother owned and operated Gibbs Bros. Auto Body Shop on London Road in Sarnia and sponsored local racing at Glendale Speedway. He was also in land development and construction. At Jim's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A sincere thank you for those who cared for Jim. If you wish, memorial donations may be made to Sarnia Humane Society, Bluewater Health or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to the D. J.
