James Alton

January 1, 1936 — January 2, 2016

James Alton, January 1st, 1936 – January 2nd, 2016: Born to Eva and George in Stockport, England, the eldest of four sons. He was very proud to get to the age of 80. He married Margaret Lord on December 14th 1957 (58 years). Years later he would say "marry only in the Lord...I married one". He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness on September 6th 1966 into the Heaton Moor, Stockport congregation. He was loved dearly by his two sons Ian James (Elizabeth) and Robert David (Sandra). He moved to Canada after retiring from British Gas. Eleven years on he had seen all his grandchildren married and to his delight enjoyed 8 great grandchildren all of whom utterly adored him, Grandchildren’ Sandra, Rachel, Douglas, Philip and Andrew, Great grandchildren Ethan, Elliott, Olivia, Emilia, Emma, Joshua, Easton and Noah. He enjoyed golfing with brothers, friends and neighbours. He also loved golf course walks with his dog Fergie finding golf balls that he would then pass onto others. His kind smiling face and excellent sense of humor will be missed by his family and friends in Canada and England. A memorial service will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be held for an hour prior to the service.
