SCHULTZ, IVY - Peacefully, on October 2, 2018, at Vision Nursing and Rest Home, Ivy (Bazeley) Schultz passed away at the age of 103. She was predeceased by husband Lorne (1993), parents Eva and Bertram Bazeley, her sister Rose (John, Fred), brother Alwynne (Mary, Bobby) and Joe Taylor. She was the loving aunt of Mary- Anne Taylor, Mississauga and nephews Wayne (Judy), Warren (Clara) and Lee (Diane) Schultz all of Sarnia and beloved friend of Julie Percival.
Born in Sarnia, on Dec. 24, 1914, the year the Great War broke out, Ivy experienced the Great Depression and the 2nd World War, always adapting and changing along with the times. She lived through a time when life was tough, when people depended upon each other for support and many times for the staples of life. Ivy’s life was not about fame or acclaim, but about caring and sharing, about friends and family, strengthened by a deep faith in her church, Central Baptist of which she was a member for over 80 years.
Ivy quietly and persistently brightened the lives of those around her. Blessed with a quick wit, and a strong will, her intelligent and sharp mind had the innate ability to recall details and stories about her life up until her passing.
“We shared a real sense of contentment with the world, good friends, good marriage, and good health, everything coming together giving you a life well lived” commented Ivy on her 100th birthday.
A special thanks to the staff at Vision Nursing and Rest Home for the continued support and love shown to Ivy. Words cannot convey our thanks and appreciation for all that you have done. A Celebration of Ivy’s Life will be held at Central Baptist Church, London Rd. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 with visitation starting at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through donations to Central Baptist Church or the charity of choice. Memories, photos and messages of condolence may be shared at www.djrobb.on.ca.
