Hubert (Bert) Butler

After nearly ninety-two remarkable years, it is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our brother, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, great great grandpa and friend. At Bluewater Health - Mitton Site on Thursday, April 15, 2010, HUBERT JAMES (BERT) BUTLER, age 91, of Sarnia, beloved husband of the late Theresa Helen (Dewey) Butler, the love of his life. Dear father of Dr. Roy Butler and his wife Lucy, Eric Butler, all of Sarnia, Louise Foster and her husband Robert, of London, Mervin Butler (predeceased) and his wife Kathy, Joan Serre and her husband Henry, all of Sarnia, and Keith Butler and his wife Ann Richardson, of London. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Marjorie Stuckless and her husband Bob (both predeceased), Muriel Jefferies (predeceased) and her husband Otto, Deer Lake, Newfoundland, Vivian Hewlin and her husband Nick (both predeceased), Celeste Organ and her husband Gus (predeceased), Clarence Butler and his wife Marjorie, Allister Butler and his wife Doreen of Lake Valley Grove, Ray Butler (predeceased) and his wife Elaine, Ronald Butler and his wife Pat all of Sarnia. Bert was born in Springdale, Newfoundland. In 1946, he moved with his family to Sarnia, Ontario. He was retired from Interprovincial Pipeline (Enbridge) and was a member of Dunlop United Church. Visitation at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Sunday, April 18, 2010, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at DUNLOP UNITED CHURCH, 757 Rosedale Ave., on Monday, April 19 th. at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Shuttleworth officiating. Cremation to follow. A reception will take place at the church immediately following the funeral service.
