Surrounded by her family, at Vision Nursing Home, on March 7, 2015, HELEN PATRICIA WIGHTON (nee Moran) peacefully passed away in her 87th year.
Helen will be forever missed by her devoted husband of 64 years, Bill Wighton. She was the loving mother of Dan (Jan), Jim (Moia), Bob (Sharon), Debbie (Ron Raes), the late Greg (Margaret), Mark (Mary Anne), David (Joe Chetcuti) and Mary Beth (Dawn Baxter). She was the cherished grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Helen is also survived by her brother, Ron (Mary) Moran, in-laws Don (Norma) Wighton, Alex Wighton and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Jeanette (Noyle) Moran, her sisters Jean (Chuck) McRitchie, June (Bill) Shortt and her brother Bill (Connie) Moran, her son Gregory (2010), her twin sons Peter and Paul (1964) and her grandson Dustin (1984).
Helen was born in Mooretown, Ontario. She was a founding member of St. Benedict Parish and an active member of the C.W.L.and Strangway Centre. She worked as a legal secretary for many years. She loved gardening, knitting, reading, travelling, playing cards and most importantly, spending time with her family, leaving them enriched with wonderful stories and heartwarming memories.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the excellent care received by Dr. Kolano, Dr. Gannon, and the caring staff at Vision Nursing Home.
Family and friends will be received at D.J. Robb Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church at 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Lucio Couto officiating. Interment to follow at Our Lady Of Mercy Cemetery.
