Helen Edna (Clarkson) nee Bridgewood Soper SOPER, Helen Edna (Clarkson) nee Bridgewood - Of Sarnia, b. March 15, 1914. d, April 14, 2013 peacefully in her 100th year. Helen is predeceased by: Parents Edna and Raymond Bridgewood; Sister Norma "Punkin"; Infant Daughter Norma; Daughter Marilyn; Son Allan; Husband Allan "Barney" Clarkson and Husband James Soper; Stepson Paul; Grand Daughter Erica. Helen is survived by: loving Son Ross Raymond Clarkson (Alison); loving stepdaughter Barbara (Ross) Dowswell; Daughter-in-law Peggy Clarkson; Grandchildren Jim, Nancy, Allison, Tim, Lisa, Tracy, Trevor, Matthew, Laara, Mark, Peter, Scott, Adam; Great Grandchildren Erin, Shona, Johnny, Mia, Terri, Nicolas, Michael, Jonathon Elyna. Helen was born in Hamilton, attended Delta Collegiate (Honorary member), attended normal school, and worked as a nanny. She married Barney in Paris, ON during the war years and they moved with their three children to Sarnia in 1951. Helen obtained her real estate licence, worked for Neil Pole Pharmacy and retired from Sears. Later in life she enjoyed harness racing, golf and bridge with Jim; travelling with sister Norma; time spent with her Grandchildren, and always looked forward to meeting new Great-Grandchildren. Helen enjoyed many life-long friendships at Grace United Church where she was a charter member having attended and served for over 56 years. Helen was well loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends and will be remembered by her boundless energy and her conviction to live life to the fullest.
