Hector Joseph Audette
Audette, Hector – passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia at the age of 63. Loving husband to Jennifer (nee Young) and cherished father of Philippe (Kaitlynd) Audette and Dominique Audette. Beloved son of Marguerite (nee Parker) and predeceased by father Albert Audette. Brother to Lorraine (Charlie) Caissie, Germaine (Bill) Firth, Fernand (Cindy) Audette, Michel (Dawn) Audette, Suzanne (Allie) Dunn, Serge Audette, and Francine (Craig) Murray. Sorely missed by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
An engineer in training and temperament, Hector worked at Suncor for the last 14 years, following 25 years with Dow Chemical. He enjoyed cycling, playing Zelda, and restoring the beautiful Victorian home he shared with his family in Petrolia. He will be remembered for his wit, quiet humour, bright smile, and thoughtfulness towards all he knew.
Due to COVID 19 concerns, a private family service was held at Lakeview Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Stories and condolences may be shared with the family directly, or online through DJ Robb Funeral Home at djrobb.on.ca

Jennifer & Family, I am so sorry to learn of Hectors passing. Unfortunately, I only had the privilege of meeting him for a short time at our staff Christmas party, he was such a wonderful man. I am thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Hector's passing. I immediately think of his leadership in the Toastmaster's Club. I don't recall all the stories and speeches, but I do recall smiling and laughing many times.

Condolences to Hector's family. He was such a warm, friendly guy for the years I knew him at Dow. Always a lovely mischievous smile whoever we met. Taken too soon. RIP Hector🙏🏻

Hoping Hector knew how grateful and honored I was that he reached out to find me in what were his final days. Sadly, Hector passed away before I had the chance to visit him and reminisce about our time at Dow Chemical. I will forever remember Hector as the great friend and colleague that he was. My earliest recollection of Hector was him windsurfing on Lake Huron, him meeting and falling in love with Jennifer, all the Pulp & Paper conferences we attended worldwide with Gordon Brown, Dan Blevins and Ron McCreedy, and his kind send off to me when I decided to transition from Engineer to Artist. My very sincere condolences to Jennifer and all of Hector's family, as he was far too young and had much more to offer in this life.

Condolences to all of you, so glad I was able to spend a couple of hours with Hector and Jennifer on the patio a short while ago. Great memories of pulp and paper mills visited, conferences attended and TS and D meetings at Modeland and Vidal. You are missed for your smiles and Humour.

Our sincere condolences to Jennifer, Philippe and Dominique. Hector, I will always treasure the fun times we had working together at Dow, the golf tournaments, the Christmas parties and I'll always remember the mouse that ran up your pant leg in your office. RIP Hector. You will be missed.
