ROUNTHWAITE, Harry Leslie M.D.C.M., F.A.C.S., F.R.C.S.(C) passed away peacefully at Sarnia at the age of 94 on May 3, 2018. Dr. Rounthwaite is survived by his wife Jeanne (nee George); his sons, John (Ellen) and Ian (Barb); grandchildren, Rob, (Etsuko), and Jennie (Chris) and great grandchildren, Tommy, Hailea and Jeremy. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan, and twin brother, John. Harry was born in Hamilton, Bermuda to Frances George Rounthwaite and Katherine (Kitty) Rounthwaite (nee Butterfield) on May 9, 1923. He was educated at Ridley College and obtained his B.Sc. M. Sc. and MD degrees from McGill University. During WWII he served with the Royal Canadian Navy and participated in the D Day landing aboard the HMCS Thunder. During his medical career, he was the Chief of Surgery at the Sarnia General and St. Joseph's Hospitals and was on the Board of Directors of the VON, Rotary Club and Big Brothers, Sarnia. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harry's name to a charity of your choice.
