Peacefully with his family by his side at Bluewater Health - Norman Site on Sunday, September 13, 2009, HARRY EDSOL CORNISH, age 82, of Sarnia, beloved husband for the past 58 years of Evelyn (Lawrence) Cornish. Dear father of Catherine Powell (Mickey Cataford), Pamela Churchill (Neil), Douglas Cornish, Calvin Cornish (Ruth McPherson), Carol Cornish (Jeff Helps), and Kimberley Cornish all of Sarnia. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Paul, Chris, John, Elysia, Daniel, Jessica, Michael, Mathew and Sarah. Great-grandfather of Elora and Kyle. Dear brother of Carol Cornish of Peterborough. A lifelong Sarnia area resident, Mr. Cornish was pre-deceased by his parents Charles and Ida Cornish. He was a passionate fan of horse racing and the Sarnia Legionnaires Hockey Team. Harry was always active in the sports activities of his grandchildren. A veteran of World War II, he was retired from C.N. Rail with 45 years of service. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE on Wednesday, September 16 th. at 11:00 a. m. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Huron House Boy's Home or the Palliative Care Unit of Bluewater Health (cheques only please).
