Harold Douglas Smith

     Harold Smith June 2, 1938 - October 5, 2017

Harold Douglas Smith, in his 80th year, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family on October 5, 2017 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia Ontario.  

Harold was born on June 2, 1938 the oldest son of William and Mildred Kathleen Smith.  He was born in Brandon Manitoba and raised in Duffield Alberta until the age of 16 when he moved to Newbury Ontario. Harold met Jean in the summer of 1957 and they were married on January 2, 1960.  Father to four loving children, Lynne (Derek), Jamie, Rick, Sandra (Dan).  Beloved Grand Father of 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Big brother to Betty (Bill) and Nancy.  

He was a long time employee of Walinga Inc and retired in 2011.  

"Gone Fishing" 

Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE where the family will receive friends on Wednesday October 11th between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Cremation will follow.  A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel on Monday October 16th at 1:00 p.m. with inurnment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
