JOHNSTON, HAROLD CHARLES –Peacefully at Bluewater Health on Friday, February 15, 2019. Harold Johnston passed away at the age of 92 with family by his side. Harold was predeceased by his loving wife Elva (2016). He was the loving father to Harold Johnston Jr., Darlene Wiwcharuk (Doug), Stephen Johnston and Gerald Johnston. He is survived by his 13 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his sisters Bertha Ewart 2015 and Geneva Wasson 2012; Daughters Joyce Cassista 2013 and Barbara Coyle 2017 (survived by her husband Tom). Harold is also predeceased by his parents Hollis and Ellen (Nellie) Johnston/Partis. Harold was born in Cliffordvale New Brunswick and worked for CP Railroad until moving to Sarnia, where he worked at Dixon Van line, and various other occupations. He joined the Sarnia Police Force in 1957, and was very proud to serve the city of Sarnia. After he retired Harold and Elva were members of the Eagles club where they would dance the night away. He enjoyed camping, and never missed a leafs game (unless it was at 11 o’clock at night). A memorial service will be held on Friday February 22, 2019 at 12:00 pm at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Center (102 Victoria St. N. Sarnia). Family and Friends may visit on Friday February 22, 2019 from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 pm. The family would like to send a special thanks to property manager Aaron, neighbors Sharon, Alma and Kathleen for always looking out for him.
