It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Gunnar Aage Marjama, age 89, at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener ON on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Beth) Doreen Marjama (Lee) for 60 years. He will be missed by his daughters Linda Tyler (William), Lana Marjama (Eric Wong), Jean Marjama (Todd Regnier). He was greatly loved by his grandchildren David, Elizabeth, Steven, Darryl, Natasha, and Annika. Predeceased by his daughter Milda “Em” Morgan (Richard). He was born in Oulu Finland and immigrated to Canada as an infant to Larder Lake Ontario. He was a devoted fisherman and moose hunter which started at an early age when his passion for the outdoors kept him away from school. He worked for 37 years at Fiberglass Canada as a maintenance mechanic. In their retirement years, they travelled the world and he still talked of the camels of Egypt. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Gunnar’s life will be held at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE (102 N. Victoria St. Sarnia, On) on Monday July 24th at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Donations in memory of Gunnar to the Sarnia Lambton White Cane Centre would be appreciated by the family.
