Gloria Jean McCutcheon

After a long and difficult illness, Gloria Jean McCutcheon passed peacefully at Bluewater Health on Tuesday May 30, 2023 at the age of 74.  Predeceased by her parents Carl and Donna Chesher and her loving husband Peter McCutcheon.  She is survived by her loving family, son Alan McCutcheon, sister Anne (Glenn) Ruble and brother Don (Dale) Chesher.  Remembered by Nephew Darron (Sabina) Chesher, and Nieces Melodee (Teit) Agger,  Michelle Ruble, Cara Herbstreit and Jenn (Wes) Brown.  

Aunt "Gorilla" (Gloria) is survived by many great nieces and nephews. Mom struggled with complications from diabetes but in true fighter spirit faced each challenge with a positive and hopeful outlook.  Her battle proved to be too much in the end but she always kept a winning spirit even in the toughest moments. As a proud member of Delta Chi Sigma Sorority,  she loved giving back to her community  through fundraisers and charity events. Special thanks to the team at Bluewater Health who showed genuine care and attention to Mom during her illness.  She received great care from the St Joseph's Palliative Care Team under the guidance of Dr. Crombeen. We would also like to thank the Nursing and PSW's  Team Natasha, Melanie,  Shelly, Eva, Debbie, Kadisha and others who cared for her and showed real kindness to Mom.  They made Mom feel  special. We would like to thank Ryan and Becky Haney who were great support to Alan during Mom's illness. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at DJ Robb Funeral and Cremation Centre (102 Victoria Street, North, Sarnia, ON N7T 5W9) on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Reception will follow the funeral service. Interment will take place at Hillsdale Cemetery in Petrolia following the reception. In lieu of flowers. Memorial Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or St. Joseph's Hospice Memories, messages of condolence or photographs may be shared through www.djrobb.on.ca
