Gladys May Perry

January 30, 1929 — May 24, 2018

PERRY, GLADYS – At Bluewater Health-CEE in Petrolia on Thursday, May 24, 2018, Gladys May (Thompson) Perry, age 89, passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Perry (2014), loving mother of John Perry and dear grandmother of Angela (Terry) and Jason (Jen), great-grandmother of Joel, Hayley, Alysha, Jordan, Taylor and Olivia. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Daye and sister in laws Erika Perry and Shirley Thompson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her parents Harvey (1968) and Margaret (1969) Thompson, her daughter Elizabeth Button (2015), her brothers Henry, Harold, Arthur and Earl and sisters Evelyn and Dorothy. Gladys appreciated the love and support from her family and friends. A special thank you to her sister Margaret Daye, Wendy and Mike Street, Sharon and Mike Damchuk, Erika Perry, Donna Mae and Roger Morningstar, her family in England, Sonia and Roy James, Joan and Brian Rogers, the Salvation Army and the Royal Canadian Legion, Br #635, Brigden. Thank you to Catherine Rhude, a loving friend for 80 years and Eleanor Sperling for more than 70 years of friendship. Gladys loved her family and watching her sports – curling, hockey and baseball calling back and forth to her sister Margaret Daye to talk about the games. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a very sweet lady. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Sympathy expressed through donations to the Salvation Army, Heart & Stroke or the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia). Messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
