At Bluewater Health - Mitton Site on Monday, April 26, 2010, GESINE ALIDA (SCHUTTE) DOUMA, age 91, of Point Edward, beloved wife of the late George Douma. Dear mother of William (Bill) Douma of Point Edward and Jean Douma of Chatham. Dear sister of Marta Volkers in Holland. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, she was pre-deceased by 2 brothers Otto and Gert Schutte in Holland. Born at Utrecht, Holland, Mrs. Douma immigrated to Canada in 1953 where she served as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a member of Point Edward United Church. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Friday, April 30 th. at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Charity of Choice (cheques only please.
