With hearts saddened by loss but overflowing with happy memories, the family of GARRY ANTHONY CUMMINS announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, August 30 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Ontario. Garry, the man, the legend, was born on June 20, 1951 in East Wirral, Merseyside, England, the son of the late Maureen and Sylvester Cummins. He is survived by his two brothers Nicholas Cummins and Steven Cummins, his adoring wife Bonnie Cummins (Kiehl-Madliger), his children Debbie, Courtney, and Sean Cummins, and his stepdaughters Christine Madliger (Chris) and Cheryl MacLachlan (Brent). Garry was the loving grandfather to Kale and Nico Cummins and Elliot and Diana Harris.
Garry worked at Imperial Oil for 30 years where he was able to retire at the tender age of 55. He was an avid traveler with his wife Bonnie, visiting many exotic places and making friends all around the world. Garry never met a stranger.
Garry will be remembered for his love for his family, sense of humour, generosity, and unwavering support of his football team Everton. “Come on you Blues”. Garry told the best stories and if you heard them once, you heard them at least 10 times over.
Garry was loved and cherished by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Resting at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St. Sarnia) where the family will receive friends on Wednesday September 7th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br.62 (286 Front St. North, Sarnia) on Thursday, September 8th from 6 to 9 p.m.
