Frederick Lewis Fysh
Mr. Frederick Lewis Fysh, age 88 of Sarnia was finally reunited with the love of his life on Tuesday July 20, 2021. His beloved wife of 47 years, Janet Margaret Sutherland (Hastings) Fysh had died in 2014 and Fred spent the last seven years missing her deeply. Fred was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on March 10th, 1933. After graduating with an Engineering Degree he started working at Polymer/Polysar in Sarnia. He retired in 1990 and went on to be the Organist and Choir Director at St. Paul’s United Church for many years. Fred’s passion for music was contagious, whether it be the Music Festival or the Polysar Glee Club (which he directed for many years), he always lit up a room! Fred was a humble spirit always giving to others, bringing joy whenever he could! Fred lived a long and happy life and died peacefully in his sleep at Vision Nursing Home of Sarnia. Fred will be lovingly missed by daughter Tracey Bisson, son Mark (Lynn) and grandson Preston Fysh, his sister Audrey Laughy of Grand Prairie, Alberta, sisters in law Sally Hastings of Toronto, Phyllis Fysh of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and nieces Jennifer Kristjansen (Kevan) of Toronto and France, Laurie James (Eustace) and family of Edmonton, Leslie Tait (Evan)and family of Inglis, Manitoba, nephews John Hastings (Kelly) of Toronto and Greg Fysh (Barb) and family of Moose Jaw. He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Mabel Fysh, his sister Doris Fysh and brother Robert Fysh, father and mother in law Robert and Mary Hastings and brother in law Rae Hastings. We would like to thank the staff of Vision Nursing Home for their Care and Compassion. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at St Paul’s United Church (Devine and Emma St, Sarnia) on Saturday July 24th at 11:00 am. Private committal services will be held at the later date. Memorial gifts to the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9. When I was organist of St. Andrew's United in Moose Jaw, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Fred. He was visiting Moose Jaw and came up to the organ after the service. We had a lovely chat and he got to play the organ. My condolences.
