At Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia, on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, FLORENCE (TAYLOR) BURD, age 89, of Sarnia, beloved wife for the past 67 years of the late Stephen Burd. Loving mother of Linda Meredith of Chatham and Heather Decker and her husband Brian of Zurich. Dear nana of David Meredith and partner Jose Ferradas-Gil, Julie Decker-Szabo and her husband Ernie, Paul Meredith and his wife Jackie and Trudie MacDonald and her husband Leslie. Great nana of Taylor MacDonald and Lexie Szabo. Dear sister of Evelyn McAlpine of Sarnia, Winnifred Birchard and her husband Allen of Kelowna, B.C., Isabelle Barnes and her husband Joseph of Petrolia and Raymond Taylor of Oakville. Sister-in-law of Grace Taylor of Sarnia. Pre-deceased by her parents Robert and Christina Taylor and the late Mary Forbes Taylor, a brother Gordon Taylor, and a son-in-law Wayne Meredith. A lifelong Sarnia resident, Mrs. Burd was a member of Laurel Lea - St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME, 102 N. Victoria Street, Sarnia on Friday, March 27 th. at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joyce Hodgson officiating. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to Laurel Lea - St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation (cheques only please).
