Eugene Robert Siebert

Peacefully at Bluewater Health after a lengthy illness on Friday April 8,  2016 EUGENE “GENE” ROBERT SIEBERT age 84 of Sarnia.  Beloved husband of 59 yrs to Elsie (Matiation) Siebert.  Loving father of Eugene and his wife Sandy, Sheldon and his wife Deb,  Curtis and his wife Cindy and Marc.  Cherished grandfather of Alicia, Brent and his wife Meghan, Tanner, Shelby, Valerie, Michael, Kyle, Michelle and her husband Mark and great-grandfather of  Justin and Avery.  Born in Burdette, Alberta, Gene had a passion for music at a young age that he shared with his three brothers.  In 1948 he joined a band called “the Sons of the Saddle” with brothers Vic, Lennie and his sister Lorraine.  Widely known throughout Canada “Sons of the Saddle” toured around the country and a television music variety show called “Saddle Song” .  Gene moved to Sarnia with his beloved wife Elsie and family in 1972 and worked as chief custodian at the Lambton Kent District School board and also continued performing music in the Sarnia Lambton area with the Siebert Brothers Band.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will be held at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE on Thursday April 14th between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.  Private interment will be held at a later date.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Community Living Sarnia or Bluewater Health.  “The love, the memories and the music will forever echo in our hearts”
