Errol MacDonald Smith

It is with heavy hearts that the family of ERROL MACDONALD SMITH announce his passing at the age of 77 on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Sumac Lodge in Sarnia.

Errol was born on March 9, 1944 in St.Michael, Barbados to the late Estelle Harewood and Gilbert Smith. He was the youngest of 9.

Errol leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years, Karen Smith, and children; his sons in Barbados, Stephen Shepherd(Marcy Jordan), Errol Shepherd(Sherry Depeiza), and Troy Griffith (Daughter-in-law, Julianna Trotman-Griffith), Daughters Tanesha Smith(Thomas Lindsay), Tianna Smith(Von Smout.) Errol is remembered by his Grandchildren, Donovan, Shayla (Jarred), Ashley, Trey, Cassius, Tristan, Kiara, and Darian, & Faith,followed by his Great Grandchildren Dalton, Natalia, Kiana, Ella, and Hunter.

Predeceased by his siblings Vernon, Olga, Violet, & Ben, & survived by siblings Garnet, Sylvia, Gwendolyn, and Sheila along with his 19 nieces and 24 nephews. Errol was also a neighbourhood Dad to so many of our friends (Adam, Lacey, Kailey, April, Krystal) he will be missed greatly.The Smith Family would also like to thank the staff at Sumac Lodge, their continued care and support has been amazing, and we truly appreciate every single one of you. A Special Thank-You to Rick James, our family is grateful for all you have done.

Cremation will take place, with no service or visitation as per Errol's wishes. A personal family gathering will take place to scatter his ashes along the St. Clair River. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
