**Elsie Meta Shanks (nee Jensen)**

The world has bid farewell to a cherished soul, Elsie Meta Shanks, who passed away peacefully at her residence on June 25, 2024. She was born on June 30, 1939, in St. Thomas, Ontario, to her loving parents.

She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Gerald Shanks, who preceded her in death in 2018. Elsie also joins her dear sister Joyce Pushie and brother Ron Jensen in the realm beyond. While the world mourns the loss of such a remarkable individual, we take solace in knowing that she is now embraced by divine love alongside those who went before her.

Elsie leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire generations to come. She is survived by her children Brenda (Norm) Peachey, Melody Fraser-Ryan, Kim (Marlene) Shanks, Jerry W. (Barb) Shanks, and Carol (Frank) Hummel. Her spirit lives on through her ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whose lives have been enriched by her presence.

As we remember Elsie Meta Shanks, let us cherish the light she brought into our lives and celebrate a life well-lived. May she rest in eternal peace with her Maker, surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her time on earth.

Cremation has taken place with interment at Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/locations/canada would be appreciated.
