EDWARD (TED) HATHAWAY CHAPMAN -November 6, 1917 - June 28, 2012. Edward (Ted) Chapman of Sarnia passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012 in his 95th year at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia. Beloved husband of the late Viola Charlotte (Kimball) Chapman (September 20, 1994). Cherished father of Linda and Frederick Hoffner (Kerwood), Edward (Ted) and Susan Chapman (Brantford) and Laurel and David Pattenden (Mooretown). Dearly missed grandfather of James Hoffner and Adrienne Lee, Anne Hoffner, Jennifer Chapman, Scott and Dana Chapman, Ian and Julia Pattenden, Philip Pattenden and great grandfather of Aidan Hoffner, Maeve Hoffner and Charlotte Chapman. Brother in law to Kay McPhail and William Kimball. Ted was predeceased by his siblings: Alice Marks, Mill Bending, Nell Dent, Jessie Ferguson, Grace Taylor, Bill, Bob, Art and Jim Chapman. Ted was a World War 11 Veteran, long time member and past president of the Sarnia Legion and member of the Pt Edward Ex Servicemen's Club. Amateur sport was a big part of Ted's life and he was inducted into the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame. A memorial service will be held from the Chapel of the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, July 3rd at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, July 2nd from 7:00 to 9:00pm and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, July 3rd between 12:30pm and 1:30pm. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Legion Poppy Fund or charity of your choice.
