It is with regret that the family of Earl Reece announce his passing which occurred on July 12th 2022 in Sarnia. Earl was born in 1923 in Sarnia ON., to parents Charteris and Mary Ellen (Brown) Reece. He was a lifelong resident of the city. He attended high school at Sarnia Collegiate Institute and Technical School. Following the outbreak of World War 2, he was deferred as an essential servant to the war effort and was employed by Kellogg Construction Company during the building of Polymer Corp. In January 1944 he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and was assigned to various units including, Infantry and Intelligence, but served primarily in the Canadian Provost Corp. He was a graduate of the Canadian Military College in Kingston ON. Earl was discharged in September 1946. In 1947 He joined the Dow Chemical company where he was employed for 35 years until retiring in 1982. In 1948 He met and married the love of his life Reta Velma Tubman with whom he enjoyed 72 years of marriage and raised three sons. During retirement Earl enjoyed golfing, travelling and could often be found in the stands of baseball parks and arenas cheering on his grandchildren and their teams. He was member of Victoria Lodge #56 A.F. and A.M. for over 75 years. Earl was also a devout and active member of All Saints (St. George's) Anglican Church. He was predeceased by his son Gary (1973), Reta (2020), and his son Philip (2021). He is survived by his son Paul (Debbie) of Stratford ON., as well as grandchildren Meghan Heritage and her husband John of Grand Haven Michigan USA., Sarah Reece and her husband Danike of Toronto ON. and grandson Adam Reece of Miami Florida, USA. He also is survived by great grandchildren Jack and Henry Heritage of Grand Haven and his brother Dr. Charteris Reece and his wife Barbara of Burlington ON. Cremation has taken place. At Earl's request there will be no funeral home visitation and a private interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Sarnia with the Rev. Steve Harnadek officiating. The family requests that those wishing to honour Earl's life and passing may do so through donations to a charity of the donors choosing or by doing a random act of kindness for someone else. Arrangements are entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9).
