Sidenberg Dr. Sidney Harold - July 7, 1923 - December 9, 2009 On Wednesday, December 9th. Dr. Sidney Sidenberg of Sarnia, formerly of Toronto peacefully passed away at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Roberta Sidenberg (Bobbie), loving father of son David Sidenberg and daughter-in-law Cindy Allaer-Sidenberg, late daughter Dr. Deborah Sidenberg-Rice and son-in-law Steven Rice of Toronto, son Phil Sidenberg and daughter-in-law Sue Sidenberg of Caledonia and daughter Cheryl Sidenberg of Kelowna, British Columbia. Dear grandfather é¢aA"Pops-Papaé¢a to seven grandchildren, David, Michael, Aaron, Jamie, Sarah Sidenberg, Dawson and Eli Beggs and é¢aA"great papaé¢a to little Ameleeya. Dr. Sidenberg was a well respected surgeon who shared a general practice with his brother the late Dr. Roy Sidenberg. Dr. Sid treasured his family, neighbours, many friends and colleagues. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto, interned in the USA and returned to Canada joining his brother's practice in Sarnia in 1950. Dr. Sid is remembered for his commitment to his patients often making house calls. He was a practicing physician well into his 70's. All enjoyed his memorable sense of humour. Dad always said in his most memorable quote, é¢aA"The first 100 years are the toughest.é¢a A private family burial will take place on Monday, December 14th. at Dawes Road Cemetery, 1:00 PM in Toronto. All friends are welcome to visit family during a celebration of Dr. Sidenberg's life to be held Thursday, December 17th from 3 to 7PM at the Holiday Inn, 1498 Venetian Blvd. Point Edward. A light buffet will be provided in The Venetian Ball Room. Family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the loving and compassionate staff of Marshall Gowland Manor who provided excellent care and comfort to Dr. Sid in his final years. Also we wish to thank Dr. Aidan Canning and Dr. Patrick Taylor for the special attention and support given.
