JANSON, J. DOUGLAS August 15, 1938 - August 13, 2011 - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Douglas Janson (Daye) announce his passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Richard Daye (1985), Ronald Janson (1996) and Marion Janson (2004). Fondly remembered by his loving wife Joan Janson. His children Lori and Brad Janson (Cara). He will be forever remembered by his son Michael Janson (Danielle),Dennis Nickles (Suzie), Dana Nickles (Jill), Cathy McDonald (Paul), Craig Seward (Isabelle), and Leslie Nickles (Bill). Beloved Papa of Cole, Parker and Sydney Janson, Katie Nickles, Lindsey Millman and Courtland Wilson, Renee and Loni Nickles, Matthew McDonald, Jamie-Lynn and Chantel Watson, Jack and Piper Janson. Great grandfather of Ethan, Brayden, Mya, Kendra and Taylor. Doug was born in North Sydney, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia on August 15, 1938. While he made his home in Sarnia, Ontario, his heart was always in his beloved Cape Breton. Doug was a proud member of the Boilermakers, Local 128. In his earliest working days, he cherished 12 years of service on the CNR Railways. Labour movement and workers rights were close to his heart. He always gave of himself for what was best for others. His amazing courage during his battle against cancer will hopefully forge a brighter future for other's loved ones fighting the same battle. A Celebration of Doug's Life will take place on Thursday, August 18th at 1:00 pm at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION on Front Street.
