CRAWFORD, DORIS ELAINE é¢aA"GOLDIEé¢a (GOULDING) - Suddenly on March 8, 2010, Doris Elaine (Goulding) Crawford, age 79, of Sarnia, wife of the late George Henry Crawford (1992). Dear mother of Elaine Stroobandt (Pat), Debbie Smith, Kim Smith (Dan) all of Sarnia. Dear sister of Margaret (Peggy) Johnson and her husband Russ, sisters-in-law Viola Goulding and Marilyn Miller of Sarnia and Phyllis Goulding of Fort Erie. She was predeceased by infant son Henry George, sister Betty Lou Kinart and three brothers Gord, Robert and Bill Goulding. Also survived by grandchildren April Shortt (Jer), Michael, Richard, Katie, Jason (Erin), Courtney (Ricky). Great grandmother of Jordanne, Bethany, Jaccob and Alexander and several nieces and nephews. Special friend of the late Paul Vansickle. Doris played 2 pitch ball until the age of 70 and was inducted in the Sarnia Lambton Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. Her sports accomplishments included: 1947-1948 鯿½é¯¿½" Played Senior Fastball in Fort Erie. 1949 鯿½é¯¿½" Doris was with Port Colborne Int. é¢aA"Bé¢a PWSU Champions. 1950, 1951, 1952 鯿½é¯¿½" Doris played in Sarnia Women's Fastball League for Highfield Motors, Autolite and Polymer Rubber Dolls. 1953 to 1970 鯿½é¯¿½" Doris played with Sarnia Fastball Teams. 1957, 1959 鯿½é¯¿½" Sarnia Belles Sr. é¢aA"AAé¢a PWSU Champions. 1960 鯿½é¯¿½" Played fastball in Port Huron. 1962-1963-1964 鯿½é¯¿½" Provincial Women's Softball Union Sr. é¢aA"Aé¢a Champions and O.A.S.A. Intermediate Girls Champions. 1963 鯿½é¯¿½" Awarded young Jeweller's Trophy as League Batting Champ, 389 Average. 1964 鯿½é¯¿½" Sarnia Belles won PWSU Sr. é¢aA"Aé¢a Championship 1970 鯿½é¯¿½" Doris played for London and the team was PWSU Finalists. 1979-1984 鯿½é¯¿½" Sarnia Brewers Fastball Team - 2 Pitch. 1985 鯿½é¯¿½" Glis Fastball Team. Doris has been involved in fastball and 2 pitch for 60 years. She is an accomplished 5 and 10 pin bowler winning many league championships over her 45 years of involvement. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the D.J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Friday, March 12th at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Association or Breast Cancer Society (cheques only please).
