DOREEN CATHERINE ELSA VOKEY, age 83, é¢aA"Sweetie Pieé¢a of Vision Nursing Home passed away peacefully on March 1, 2012 with é¢aA"Princessé¢a and family by her side. Doreen was born 10/10/28 in Montreal, Quebec to the late Henry and Mabel Vokey. She moved with her father to Sarnia in 1969 where she resided with Gertie and Norman Barrie, her sister and brother-in-law and their children. She became very involved in Sarnia & District Association for Community Living and worked at Wawanash Enterprise for several years. Doreen was very active all her life and continued to take part in the numerous activities offered to her at Vision, where she enjoyed living for over 20 years. She especially loved her friends and caregivers there. They were family to her and she knew and loved them for that. Cherished aunt to James (Debby) Barrie, Glenn Barrie, Susanne (Frank) Rozborski, Linda (Al) Lauzon and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Gertrude and Norman Barrie, nephew Wayne Barrie and great niece Carmen Barrie. Although Doreen will be dearly missed by all, we are celebrating her return home to be with her Lord and Savior as well as loved ones gone before her. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Doreen's life will be held at Vision Nursing Home on Friday, March 9 at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Dalesville Public Cemetery in Quebec. As an expression of sympathy, do a good deed, smile or say a kind word to someone. Donations to Vision Nursing Home or charity close to your heart would be greatly appreciated by family for those wishing to make a Memorial Donation.
