Derek Upfold

DEREK UPFOLD, 33 years old, a lifetime resident of Sarnia passed away at St. Joseph's Hospice on August 12th, 2010, enduring a five and a half year struggle with Brain Cancer. Derek, born August 5th 1977, attended S.C.I.T.S.'s high school and Lambton College. Son of Rose Upfold (nee MacKinnon) and Roderick Upfold and brother to Melissa Upfold, Derek will be missed and his courage and conviction to survive to the last day will truly live on as an inspiration. Derek will also be remembered by his Grandmother, Rose MacKinnon as well as his family in Guelph, Toronto, and the Muskoka's. Derek was an avid bowler, a mathematical wiz at computers and a fun loving, talkative young man. The family would like to thank St. Joseph's Hospice and their amazing staff and volunteers that helped and aided Derek for the last several months. Without the hospice, our family would have been lost. Cremation has taken place with interment of ashes to follow at Baysville, Ontario. A memorial service will be held at St. Ambrose Anglican Church, Baysville, on Saturday, August 21st . The family will receive their friends at the LAWRENCE HOUSE CENTRE for the ARTS on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
