It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Delores (Doe) Marlene Martin, age 75, of Sarnia. Delores passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Bluewater Health, after a brief illness.
She is survived by her sons Jim Brown and Greg Brown (Jolynn Cracknell) and grandchildren Kristian, Rowan, and Colin.
Nieces and nephews Kim Drury (Brad Drury), Carey Eldridge, Bil Eldridge (Lee Brunton), Lauren Drury (Brad Hodgson), Aaron Drury (Aleta Jansen), and Great-nieces and nephews Paz Fortier, Emma Eldridge, Alexa Eldridge, Hunter Hodgson, Harrison Hodgson, and Remi Eldridge.
She was predeceased by her parents Fred (2000) and Leona (Hand) Martin (1999), her sisters Eleanor Harris (2019) and Nora Eldridge (2020), her brothers Freddy Martin (1944) and Joseph Martin (2008) and nephew Robert (Bob) Harris (2005).
Doe was raised in Point Edward and later moved to Port Elgin, where her children grew up. She travelled extensively, living and working in the United States and spending some time in Inuvik, NWT. She eventually returned to Sarnia, where she worked as a PSW at Vision Nursing Home before retiring. Doe spent her retirement enjoying time with family and friends and the occasional Caesar or glass of wine.
A celebration of Doe’s life will be held Sunday, April 27th, at the Point Edward Ex - Servicemen’s Club (503 Michigan Avenue, Point Edward, ON N7V 1G4) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
