RAYSON, DEBRA - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Debra Ann Rayson on March 5th, 2019. Surrounded by love and holding her daughters hand, Debra passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice after a courageous, hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. Debra will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by: her mother Patricia Wick; daughter Jennifer Rayson, son-in-law Michael Smith, grandchildren Aidan and Lennon Smith; Brother Doug Rayson; Sister-in-law Wendy Joyes (Tom Joyes) and nephews Cody and Ethan Rayson; and extended family Cliff and Joan Smith. Debra is predeceased by: her dad Larry Wick; father Bill Rayson and brother Ralph Rayson. Debra’s greatest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, whom she was fiercely proud of. Debra enjoyed playing board games, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, making crafts, attending church, and singing. Music was a big piece of Debra’s life and she took great pride in singing in the choir at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Debra was a positive, happy person, always joking, and smiling. Debra appreciated the simple things in life, like making a nice home, her work at Goodwill Industries, and celebrating every holiday with style. Debra thanked God everyday for the blessings in her life. At this time her family would like to thank: Dr. Maddison and the amazing staff and volunteers of St. Joseph’s Hospice; Dr. Yoshida and the Cancer Clinic team; the Bluewater Health Palliative Care staff; Bayshore Home Health; VON Canada; Erie St Clair LHIN; LEO; Albany Retirement Village; Goodwill Industries; DJ Robb Funeral Home; and family and friends for all the support during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday March 20th at 11am, at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Center (102 Victoria St. N. Sarnia) with interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice.
