Charles McGinley

July 8, 1938 – August 3, 2022

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Charles McGinley on August 3, 2022 at the age of 84 at Bluewater Health Sarnia.  For 54 years Charlie was the loving husband of the late Moira McGinley (nee Kennedy) (2015).  He is predeceased by his son Ken McGinley (2009).  Charlie will be missed by his daughter Kate Large (Jay Freer) and daughter-in-law Teresa McGinley.   Wonderful grandpa to Hayden and Delaney Large and Jim and Patrick McGinley.  Fun loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews and extended family. 

For many years Charlie had been so blessed to enjoy the love and laughter of Jackie Markle.   Charlie is survived by his sisters Peggy Bryson, May Porter and brother John McGinley.  Predeceased by his sister Una Francis.

Charlie was a very active man participating in many sports, from a young lad in Scotland playing soccer and cricket right up to golfing in Florida this past winter.   He volunteered many years to sport by coaching Sarnia Girls Soccer and Sarnia Township Hockey travel teams.  

Charlie enjoyed travelling and seeing the world and family abroad.   Never a man to sit still, he enjoyed a good laugh and a better beer!

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday August 19, 2022 at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home.   A celebration of life will follow at the Big Fish Steak & Lounge, 1717 London Line, Sarnia.   Sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the MS Society of Canada or the charity of your choice.
