Charles Alexander Hamilton passed away suddenly on Monday, July 6, 2015 at his home in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 77. Born in Petrolia, Ontario, Charlie started his career in 1956 at the Sun Oil Company (now Suncor) relocating to the Calgary office in 1985. After 39 years with Suncor, he joined CenAlta Well Services, followed by Crown Energy as Director of Human Resources. An avid golfer and pool player, Charlie treasured the enduring friendships he made in both Sarnia and Calgary, but above all loved time spent with his daughters and grandchildren. Charlie is survived by children Christine Hamilton and Jennifer (Ken) Sandmoen. Grandchildren, Brenden and Sydney Sandmoen, and wife Judith (nee Edgar). Also survived by sister-in-law Joan Glaab, nieces and nephews Michael, Maureen and Marlene Glaab, Karen and Brock (Alexandra) Edgar. Predeceased by parents, Kathleen and Charles J. Hamilton, parents-in-law Jean and Cliff Edgar, brothers-in-law Charles Glabb and James Edgar, and sister-in-law Deanna Edgar. A celebration of life in Calgary will be announced at a later date.
